Day 14 — A Chill Day, Assignment Progress, and Back to Building

Building my way into corporate life.

Today was one of those rare chill Thursdays.

No classes. No work. Just had a mate come over, relaxed a bit, and enjoyed having a slower day for once. Not every day has to be a grind-fest.

That said, I still got some solid assignment work done.

Spent most of my time working on my Speech Recognition and Computer Vision assignment. The focus today was on image processing. I built a system where I can input an image, remove noise using Gaussian, Bilateral, and Median filtering techniques, then segment the image using K-Means, Otsu Thresholding, and Watershed algorithms. After that, I compared the segmented output against the ground truth images to evaluate how well the methods performed.

I also put together a simple GUI to tie everything together and make the workflow easier to use.

Honestly, I can't say I learned a massive amount of brand-new concepts today. Most of the work involved researching how different modules and libraries work, understanding existing implementations, and figuring out how to connect everything into one complete assignment. It was more about putting the pieces together than learning a completely new skill from scratch.

But that's part of the process too.

The assignment is finally taking shape, and I now have a clear understanding of how the entire pipeline flows—from denoising to segmentation to evaluation against the ground truth images. There's still more explaining and refining to do, but the hard part of getting everything connected is done.

As for the spark idea its still there, did not work on it today tho because Thursday of course.

Chill day.

Good day.

Assignment moved forward.

Now it's time to turn that spark into something real.
